Friends or acquaintances? You were meeting her after a very long time. It’s been years since you has seen her. The last time you had met her was her marriage ceremony. She had looked so radiant and fresh then.
Today when you saw her she looked different. The light in her eyes was gone. She was constantly fidgeting and looking at her phone. Finally in frustration you had asked her if she was expecting some call. She said that she was looking at the time. Her daughter would be returning from school at 3.30pm. So she was worried. The house keys were with her.
Her answers too were very vague. Her marriage was great she told you. When you asked her more about him, she told you very sketchily about his whereabouts.
Then you touched her for money and she started giving you so many reasons. You wondered why you had started the conversation.
Then she left and she gave you her number with too many do’s and don’ts. Don’t call me at this hour, he comes home, don’t call me during weekends….. You really were flabbergasted at her behavior.
She looked very unhappy and sad. You knew you should have let her be in her own world. You left with lots of knowledge then. You knew there were no friends left in your world.
Moral: Ask your so called dearest friends for money to know if they are truly your friends or not! Almost all will become your acquaintances then!
