Once the apostles were going to a city. They met a man with pure white clothes, golden belt, beautiful bag and he was calling out to people, “pearls, pearls!” The apostles asked him whether they could stay somewhere. He replied that He too is new to the city.
The village people saw him as bedraggled person and no bag shouting “pearls, pearls!” They thought He was poor just like them and beggarly. How could a poor man with torn clothes without anything in hand give anyone anything?
The spiritual beings can recognize the divine, whereas the materially minded look at appearances and what they can get. So they can never realize the truth about the divine.
Don’t go by appearances and bribes. Look within and you will find the divine.
