dayWhere do I begin? Who is this Guru/Master? How do I meet him? Where do I find him? How do I know he is the Real Guru? Etcetera are the questions which keeps hankering one’s mind.

I began my journey On, Friday the August 14th 2009, was this most blessed day in my life doubly so as it was the day of Krsna Janmashtami – A Hindu festival which is celebrated through-out India on account of the birth of ShreeKrishna 5000yrs ago.

First and foremost in order for one to meet the Guru the following 3 key things must be in place: 1) A Human birth; 2) Burning desire within to know ‘Myself’ or ‘Who am I?’; 3)Grace of the God. When these three things falls in place the Guru finds you and not the other way round.

On this most auspicious day I called my Master to meet with him. I had no idea or knowledge whatsoever why am I meeting him. I was very restless as I was delayed and kept moving my time with him. He very graciously kept accommodating my being late. Finally, when I started on my way, my heart was beating fast as though I was meeting the Lord Almighty Krsna HimSelf (which was the Truth, little had I known). A very strange experience. At about 6pm I landed at his place. He gave me a very warm welcome.

I was feeling quite shy and told him I dressed a little too much as I had to get my portfolio done. He made a snide remark asking me who is the lucky dude!?! Little I had known who He was at that moment.

He made me to sit in his room and offered me the Prasad to eat (offering made to God and distributed as his blessings). He started enquiring about my well-being and then gave me a small exposition on Bhagvad Gita (I had no knowledge about what it contained till that day). He had one last copy with him which he gave it to me. I knew not until that moment what and who was coming in my life.

He looked absolute simpleton and appeared HimSelf to be a Human being like anybody else. The reason I am emphasizing this here is, Never Ever go by a Guru’s appearances. He is not what he is appearing to be. To know the True Him it takes life-times of intense spiritual sadhana (practice).

It all begins with the following 4 things – Absolute Faith, Complete Surrender, Unconditional Love and Exclusive Devotion. You will hear from me in great detail as we go along from my various experiences about these four words is what a Guru/God stands for and how he firms up this in his devotee. So it is said – As is one’s faith, so are the experiences in knowing the Divine. Guru is the door way to God. Without a Guru you can never know the Truth about God.

So, coming back as I received the Bhagvat Gita in my hand I experienced a deep sense of bliss inside my being, was in tears, did not understand what was happening to me. I took my Master’s blessings headed home. As I drove in my car I was very excited and feeling happy for no reason. When I went home my mother had celebrated Janmashtami to my little beautiful Krsna idol which I had bought from Mathura in 1998. She had made all the delicacies which Krsna loves as offering and he stood there in his shrine garlanded with Jasmine and Tulsi (basil leaves).

As I saw him glowing in the golden light of the lamp, Until this day this particular idol was placed in a showcase and only be worshipped once a year during Krsna Janmashtami. I picked him up in my hand and as I walked to my room, there was sudden thunder storm, lightening and heavy rain. Similarly how in the past it rained heavily when Krsna was being carried across the Yamuna river by his father. It is the indication of the Divine Birth who manifests on this earth only to establish righteousness and impart the knowledge about the Truth of who this God or Krsna is all about and take you towards Self-Realization.

I knew not then this indication but connected the dots as I walked ahead. My Krsna had arrived in my world. This is the day my entire life changed. Stay attentive as the excitement now begins – a Whirlwind Tour which you can marvel in the sport of who is this Master!?
